September marks the THREE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of Cellular Cinema (our first official screening was in the fall of 2014) and we’re celebrating with a local program, featuring work by a number of our old friends and regular contributors, and some new folks as well!
F(r)iction is a program about the ways in which our lived experiences of the world don’t necessarily match their re-presentations, re-creations and re-enactments in art and film. The work in this program explores and investigates the frictions that arise, literal and metaphorical (in the form of heat, noise, discomfort, entropy, violence) at the borders and boundaries between the actual and the representational.
Film and videomakers include John Akre, Trevor Adams, Nicole Brending, Dan Schneidkraut, Laska Jimsen, Jason Coyle, Reb Limerick, and Xavier Tavera Castro.
